Saturday 23rd August 2025
Supported by: Korumburra Landcare Group and South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grant
Come along to this stunning reserve in the heart of Korumburra and help plant out approx. 1000 plants alongside Foster Creek.
Afterwards stay on to relax and enjoy lunch while catching up with other volunteers!
This Plant Out is part of our 2025 project:
‘Restoring Nature at Woodford Reserve for Community Health and Wellbeing’ and is supported by a South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grant.
Some background:
Friends of Woodford Reserve Inc. was formed 4 years ago and this small, dedicated group has put in many volunteer hours infill planting and significantly expanding existing indigenous plantings on the reserve, thereby providing increased plant cover and wildlife habitat, and improving water quality of Foster Creek which flows through the reserve.
Korumburra Landcare’s Grower’s Group has donated 1000 of these plants to the group, and now it’s time to get them in the ground!
Planting site:
Access to the planting site is easy. Some planting will be on uneven wet ground by the creek, others on a moderate slope further up from the creek itself.
